Terms of Service

1. General provisions

These Terms of Service set out the rules for using the GadAAC app (the “App”, the “Service”) and the conditions of the GadAAC Premium subscription. The Service is provided by GadAAC (“we”, “us”). Contact: kontakt@gadaac.com. By using the App, you accept these Terms.

2. Description of the service

GadAAC is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app that helps neurodivergent people express thoughts, needs, and emotions using symbols and text-to-speech. Basic communication is free of charge. Some advanced features are available as part of the paid GadAAC Premium subscription (section 4).

3. Account

Some features (including settings sync, custom tiles, and the subscription) require an account created with an e-mail address and password. The account is created by an adult or a guardian. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity on your account.

4. GadAAC Premium subscription

The GadAAC Premium subscription unlocks advanced features: AI mode (symbol suggestions), Photo AAC, day plans with weekly templates, and First/Then sequences.

Plans and pricing

  • Monthly plan— PLN 20/month (in other regions the equivalent of approx. USD 5 / EUR 5).
  • Yearly plan— billed once a year at a lower price than twelve monthly payments.

The exact price of each plan in your currency is always shown on the purchase screen before you confirm the subscription.

14-day free trial

New subscribers get a 14-day free trial of Premium. Unless you cancel before it ends, the trial automatically converts into a paid subscription of the selected plan.

Payment and automatic renewal

Payment is charged by the store where you purchase the subscription: the App Store (Apple), Google Play (Google), or — for purchases made through the app.gadaac.com website — Stripe. Subscriptions are managed by our provider RevenueCat. The subscription renews automaticallyfor the next period (a month or a year) unless you turn off automatic renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal fee is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the selected plan.

Cancellation

You can cancel the subscription at any time:

  • iPhone / iPad:Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • Android:the Google Play app → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  • Website: in your account settings at app.gadaac.com or by writing to kontakt@gadaac.com.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Access to Premium features remains active until the end of the paid period.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the stores under their policies: Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com, Google under the Google Play refund policy. For purchases made through the website, write to kontakt@gadaac.com.

Price changes

We will announce price changes with reasonable advance notice. Continuing to use the subscription after the changes take effect means you accept them. These Terms do not affect mandatory consumer rights.

5. License to use the app

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, solely for personal, therapeutic, or educational use. You may not copy, modify, decompile, resell, or rent the App beyond what the law permits.

6. User content

The custom tiles, labels, and photos you add remain yours. You grant us a limited license to store them and display them to you so the Service can work. You are responsible for having the right to use the content and photos you add.

7. Intellectual property

The App and the GadAAC name and logo are protected by law. Pictograms come from ARASAAC (Centro Aragonés para la Comunicación Aumentativa y Alternativa) and are provided under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

8. Nature of the tool

GadAAC is a communication support tool. It is not a medical device and does not replace diagnosis, therapy, or the advice of a specialist (such as a speech therapist). Suggestions generated by AI may be inaccurate — verify them before use. The Service is provided on an “as is” basis.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the App. This section does not limit liability where the law does not allow it — in particular towards consumers.

10. Termination

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access in the event of a violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will announce significant changes by updating this page. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this document.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Polish law. This does not affect the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live. Consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution, including the European Commission’s ODR platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
