Terms of Service

1. General provisions

These Terms of Service set out the rules for using the GadAAC app (the “App”, the “Service”). The Service is provided by Paweł Sobkowiak (“we”, “us”; the “GadAAC” app). Contact: kontakt@gadaac.com. By using the App, you accept these Terms.

2. Description of the service

GadAAC is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app that helps neurodivergent people express thoughts, needs, and emotions using symbols and text-to-speech. The app is free. Advanced features (AI mode, Photo AAC, day plans, First/Then) are also free and only require a free account (section 4).

3. Account

Some features (including settings sync, custom tiles, AI mode, and day planning) require a free account created with an e-mail address and password. The account is created by an adult or a guardian. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account), which permanently erases the account and its associated data.

4. Pricing and payments

GadAAC is free. This version contains no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. All features — including AI mode (symbol suggestions), Photo AAC, Song AAC, day plans with weekly templates, and First/Then sequences — are available at no cost and only require a free account.

If we introduce paid features in the future, we will update these Terms, and in-app purchases on iOS will go through Apple In-App Purchase.

5. License to use the app

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, solely for personal, therapeutic, or educational use. You may not copy, modify, decompile, resell, or rent the App beyond what the law permits.

6. User content

The custom tiles, labels, and photos you add remain yours. You grant us a limited license to store them and display them to you so the Service can work. You are responsible for having the right to use the content and photos you add.

7. Intellectual property

The App and the GadAAC name and logo are protected by law. Pictograms come from ARASAAC (Centro Aragonés para la Comunicación Aumentativa y Alternativa) and are provided under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

8. Nature of the tool

GadAAC is a communication support tool. It is not a medical device and does not replace diagnosis, therapy, or the advice of a specialist (such as a speech therapist). Suggestions generated by AI may be inaccurate — verify them before use. The Service is provided on an “as is” basis.

AI features and your data. The AI-based features (Photo AAC, Songs AAC, and symbol suggestions) require a free account. By using them, you agree that the app sends the content you submit — a photo, song lyrics, or the context of the sentence being built — to Google (Gemini) for analysis, including outside the European Economic Area (to the US) under Standard Contractual Clauses. Basic communication works without an account and without AI. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the App. This section does not limit liability where the law does not allow it — in particular towards consumers.

10. Termination

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access in the event of a violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will announce significant changes by updating this page. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this document.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Polish law. This does not affect the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live. Consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution, including the European Commission’s ODR platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
